Welcome to the enchanting world of Bubzy Books, where imagination takes flight and tails wag with joy! I’m Christine Schick, the creative auntie behind Bubzy Books. I’m thrilled to share the delightful stories that have been inspired by the furry friends and laughter of the little ones in my life.
As a devoted auntie and an unwavering animal lover, I found my muse in the cheeky personality of my beloved dog Tango. Affectionately nicknamed “Bubzy,” Tango’s spirit and zest for life became the heartbeat of the tales that now come to life on the pages of Bubzy Books.
Bringing Bubzy to Life
One day I was playing with my dog when I heard in my head, “‘Bow-wow’ says Bubzy.” It was just so fun to say! The idea for the entire children’s book series was born.
My joy was confirmed when the first few young readers giggled at the story. The laughter of children and the love of my four-legged friends inspired me to move forward with publishing these heartwarming stories.
While Bubzy may have been the catalyst, the journey from an idea to a published book was both exciting and challenging. I am proud to say that I am a first-time children’s book author, navigating the world of storytelling with childlike wonder and a heart full of passion. My background in English and Creative Writing provided me with the tools to weave lighthearted narratives that captivate young minds and resonate with the young-at-heart. After helping multiple authors write, edit, and publish their books through Ki and C, it was finally my turn to write and publish my own story.
Bubzy Books is not just a collection of cute dog stories; it’s a celebration of the magical bond between children and their furry companions. Each tale is crafted with love and sprinkled with the essence of childhood innocence. Whether it’s a whimsical adventure, a valuable life lesson, or a heartwarming moment, every page invites families to come together and create lasting memories.
Meet the Illustrator
Collaborating with the incredibly talented Sruti Raj as the illustrator has been a dream come true. Sruti’s love for her dog, Bilbo Waggins, and artistic prowess brought Bubzy and his adventures to life. With a background in Fine Arts, Digital Illustration, and 2D and 3D Animation, Sruti infuses each illustration with a magical quality that enhances the storytelling experience. Her dedication to her craft is evident not only through her stunning artwork but also through her diverse artistic journey.
Beyond the enchanting pages of Bubzy Books, Sruti has showcased her art at prestigious exhibits across the United States. Her talent has not only graced the world of children’s literature but has also found expression in the form of pet portraits during her four-year tenure at Chewy.com. As a Student Ambassador for Sessions College for Professional Design in 2020-21, Sruti’s commitment to learning and pushing artistic boundaries is truly commendable.
